- Sunny was born and brought up in Bathinda.
- As a child, he loved singing and was active in school’s cultural programs. His village also hosted various cultural events.
- In his youth, his father bought him a Tabla as well as a Harmonium because of his love for singing.
- In 2014, his father died in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla.
- After his father’s demise, all the responsibilities of his family came on his shoulders and he had to quit his studies and started working as a boot polisher.
- In the same year, he sang ‘Akhiyan De Buhe,’ which was released by TMC Punjabi.
