Stephen Jackson was created in Houston, Texas, United States on 5th April 1978. Judyette was his single mother. His mother had a difficult time raising him. She had two jobs. Stephen also helped his mom by working in his grandfather’s soul food restaurant. He used to clean the tables and wash dishes at the restaurant.
He attended Lincoln High School for his education. In his junior year of high school, he competed in the state championship. He was later transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Jackson played for the New Jersey Nets in the 2000-01 season. Jackson appeared in 77 games and averaged 8.2 points each. He was then released by the Nets. He was then signed to the San Antonio Spurs. He played in 80 games during the 2002-2003 season and showed his best performance. He averaged 11.8 points and 2.3 assists per game, while grabbing 3.6 rebounds.
In 2003, he was drafted into the Atlanta Hawks. Although he was offered to play for the Spurs, he refused and signed 2 contracts with Atlanta Hawks. He averaged 18.1 points, 3.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds per season with Hawks during 2003-2004. He was then signed by the Indiana Pacers, where his playing time was three years.
Jackson played for the Golden State Warriors from 2007 to 2009, Charlotte Bobcats in 2009 and 2011, and the Milwaukee Bucks in 2012 to 2012. After being traded to the Warriors in 2012, Jackson made a return to San Antonio Spurs. The San Antonio Spurs waived him on April 12, 2013.
Later, he was signed to the Los Angeles Clippers December 10, 2013. Jackson did not show his best for the team. Jackson scored an average of 1.7 points for the Clippers in 9 games. Jackson announced his retirement on July 22, 2015
