Dick Strawbridge was born in Burma on September 3, 1959. George Strawbridge and Jennifer Strawbridge gave birth to him. George, his father, was an oil worker. His childhood was spent in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. Dick also attended County Antrim for his elementary school education. In 1971, Dick joined Ballyclare High School. In 1976, he graduated from high school.
Dick was initially more interested in becoming an officer in the army. After completing his O Levels, he attended sixth-form college. Dick was finally able to enroll at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
