Chesson Hadley, a child of Russell and Edna Ruth Hadley, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina United States on 5 July 1987. He was the son of Russell and Edna Ruth Hadley. Chesson began playing golf as a child. He played his first round of golf at North Ridge Country Club. He joined North Raleigh Christian Academy later and continued to improve his skills in golf.
Chesson went on to study at Georgia Tech and continued to play golf. He was a three-time All-American. He won two events at the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in 2010. He was then selected to participate in the 2008 Palmer Cup Team.
